Guild Display

Riverton Public Library
April 2017
Many talented fiber artists live in my community, and their amazing projects are on display in the Riverton Public Library through May.

Cheryl O., Rachel B., Nancy S., and Cinde P.
prepared the display
Members brought their items for the display to the March Guild meeting. The items represented an amazing variety of crafts: basketry, weaving, spinning (wheel, drop spindle, and supported spindle), knitting, crochet, quilting, sewing, tatting, dyeing, needle-felting, wet-felting.

The Guild members are extremely talented and a fun group. Do you belong to a guild?

  1. There are some beautiful items in that display. Lots of talent! I do belong to a local quilt guild and we actually meet at the public library. But I don't think they've ever been invited to display anything there.

  4. How fun! It remind sme of the fair. I spend hours at the fair looking at the fiber crafts. No guild for me, but it isn't that I haven't tried to find one. The nearest one that I found is almost 50 miles away, too far to drive regularly.

  5. My goodness! What a talented bunch you all are and that's a beautiful display. Looks like you need your own permanent display in a museum.
There is a guild in town that meets once a week, but I'm not a part of it although a friend did start an extension club for quilting once a month and I participate in that from time to time.

  7. What a beautiful (and varied) display.

I don't think we have any guilds other than the Embroiders Guild of America and they do a more fancy type of stitching than I enjoy.

  9. How fun! Which items are yours? It would be very fun to see in person, but thanks for the photos! It looks like a very nice exhibit. I meet with a subset of the guild, but can't join the bigger group as its meeting time conflicts with choir practice.
