Stone-faced, Rough Rider


I learned a great deal about the construction of statues in the A. Phimister Proctor display at the Whiney Gallery of Western Art. This large alcove is filled with sculptures of various sizes and mediums as well as pencil/pen sketches, created by Proctor.

Theodore Roosevelt, Rough Rider, pictured above, is on display in front of the horse that can be seen here. The bronze sculpture is on display in Portland, OR.
